CIVIL PROJECTS
Here’s a quick glance at just some of the projects we’ve completed.
PROJECT
Jandakot Airport – RFDS Helipad
Client: West Coast Civil

Triodia was engaged by West Coast Civil to complete the construction of helipads for the Royal Flying Doctors Services. Triodia supplied supervision, plant and labour to execute all works including final trim operators.
The project involved installation of electrical conduits for lighting, drainage requiring the setting of two 1800mm pits and eighteen 300mm concrete pipes. This needed 300mm box out of sand, trimmed and compacted with 5mm tolerance and replaced with 2 x 150mm lifts of road base trimmed and compacted to design with zero incidents.
PROJECT
Perth Airport – Bus Car Park
Client: West Coast Civil

Triodia was tasked with supplying supervision, plant and labour to execute all works, including Positrack (with attachments), 5T excavator, compactor, and tipper trucks. We removed redundant services, concrete curbing, concrete hard stand, and damaged bitumen surfaces and disposed from site.
We transported the road base material to site, conditioned and installed in a small lift, making sure we achieved suitable compaction. Given the location and proximity to the Perth Airport parking, we had to make the site safe for pedestrians, road traffic, and public transport close to the work area.
PROJECT
Great Northern Highway Upgrade – Ord River
Client: WBHO

Triodia was engaged by WBHO to assist in the upgrade of Great Northern Highway near Halls Creek. Works included relocation of road signs and installation of guideposts, installation of new kerbing and completing concrete, formwork, and stone pitching in relation to the precast and in situ culverts and drainage.
In total 2,000 metres of kerbing and backfill, 23 kerb openings and terminations, 243 guideposts, relocation of 18 road signs. Triodia assisted the client with adhoc civil work as required.
RAIL PROJECTS
PROJECT
Griffin Coalmine – Derailment Repair and Line Upgrade
Client: Griffin Coal Mining Company Pty Ltd

Many others looked at the job and for whatever reason were unable to deliver, but we did.
The original job scope was a 1 in 5 sleeper replacement over 600m and a few plugs to install to replace spots of damaged rail. However, on closer inspection it required a complete crossing removal / reinstatement and 15 welds.
Many obstacles were overcome on site such as late delivery of sleepers, prolonged adverse weather and irregular delivery of vital materials. Plus we discovered there wasn’t enough ballast under the sleepers.
Therefore, we undercut and installed new ballast and retamp. We replaced over 150 sleepers in a short time frame. The client is very happy with the result and subsequently offered us additional works.
PROJECT
Iron Bridge – Canyon G Project, Pt Hedland
Client: Fortescue Metals Group

This project was a JV between Triodia and Fluor. Once Ertech completed the construction of the stacker berms to top of sub formation level, our team was contracted for the installation of the new stacker berm rail (2,000m each side).
The works included the ballast, sleepers, tie beams between tracks, rail clips, and the welding of the rail track.
PROJECT
Kenwick Rail Flashbutt Welding Facility
Client: Asciano (Allworks subcontractor)

Extension of rail formation and capping by 1 metre in preparation for rail track slew. Extension was to be carried out over 1.4-kilometre distance with works required to be carried out between rail traffic movements and without compromising the existing rail integrity. We also created some hard stands to allow for preparation works to occur.
Triodia was tasked with supplying supervision, plant and labour to execute all works, including grader, loaders, 22t excavator, 5T excavator, roller, water truck, and tipper trucks, and we removed top soil and vegetation, brought the road base material to site, conditioned it and installed in lifts ensuring we achieved a 95 per cent compaction.
We had to work around existing services, including gas and culverts and then repair the road access area after completion.
PROJECT
Track Replacement Project – Port Hedland WA
Client: BHP Iron Ore

Dismantling of existing reclaimer rails both East and West. Removal and disposal of redundant sleepers offsite. Excavation of existing ballast and haul to BHP nominated spoil area – 6,000 tonnes. Repair proof roll existing rail formation.
Installation of Geofabric. Installation of BHP supplied ballast. Tamping and alignment of the reclaimer rails to the client specifications.
Construction of a concrete drainage slab with poly drainage channel adjacent to both sides of the reclaimer. Installation of an asphalt access road.
PROJECT
Stacker and Reclaimer Tracks, Rail Repair – Newman, WA
Client: BHP

Renewal of all clips, pads, nuts and damaged anchor bolts of over 4,800 metres of rail under three stacker and reclaimers. Rail relocation, including rail welding.
